I will tell you more about myself and Katix Music as soon as I have edited and polished the story…I are much better at repairing instruments than writing! Thanks for your patience :D (update: below is the cliff notes version)

Katix Music was founded in 2023 in Attalla, AL. It moved to Pinson, AL during the summer of 2024 and that is where you will find it now. Katy is the owner and repair technician. Here is a bit of her history

-Attended the University of Northern Iowa and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Music in 2008
-With the encouragement of her trumpet professor Dr. Grabowski - she then attended the Band Instrument Repair program at Minnesota State College Southeast in Red Wing, MN. She graduated with honors in 2009
-Accepted a job offer for Palen Music - Liberty, MO 2009 - 2014
-Followed her brother, sister and parents to Alabama after accepting a job offer at Gadsden Music in Gadsden, AL. She worked there as a technician and moved up to shop manager. 2014-2022
-Katy opened Katix Music, LLC 2023
-Straubinger Certification 2023 (What are Straubinger pads?)

Katy is a current NAPBIRT member (National Association of Band Instrument Repair Technicians), is a regional and national clinician, task force member and will be the Regional Director for Region 3 2025-2027.
